DAA 2027 Artist Application

We're thrilled you're interested in joining Dragon Age Annual 2027, a fan-created charity calendar & zine project. This year proceeds will go to support [CHARITY LINK AND BLURB].
IMPORTANT: Please review the information provided in the Before You Apply section of our website. This page explains our code of conduct, portfolio reviews, and general information about applying to and participating in DAA.
Our production timeline runs from May 22nd to October 10th. We ask that you only apply if you are confident in your ability to work to deadlines, and complete your piece(s) within this time-frame. Please be advised that both Cover Artists and any Merchandise position operate on a shorter production period due to logistics.
The theme for this year is [THEME AND BLURB]. You can read more about the concept in our Theme Ideas document [LINK].
If all of this sounds good, then please apply below! We are also looking for Graphic Artists here [LINK].
If you have any questions about our project or the application process, please email us at dragonageannual@gmail.com.

Applications Close: Sunday, May 17th, EOD Anywhere on Earth

Application results will be sent by EOD Anywhere on Earth on Friday, May 22nd. Results will be sent to everyone who applies, regardless of if you are accepted or not.

Where can we find you on social media?

There will be a separate question for linking to your specific art portfolio.

PORTFOLIO

Your portfolio of work is the primary factor that we consider when reviewing your application. It can be a website, a cloud-based folder such as Google Drive, or hosted on a social media platform, such as Tumblr or Bluesky.
PORTFOLIO GUIDELINES:
· We do not accept portfolios hosted solely on Twitter/X because they cannot be accessed without an account.
· If your portfolio is hosted on a social media site, you must link to a hashtag or feed of ONLY your art. It is not acceptable to link to a feed that includes reblogs/reposts of others' art mixed with your own.
· Your portfolio must contain a minimum of 5 pieces.
· Detailed backgrounds are required for Calendar & Zine Page Art. If applying for either of those roles, make sure your portfolio includes example pieces with backgrounds. --> if backgrounds aren't your strength, a Merch application might be a better fit!
· There is no preference/requirement for a certain style. Show us your strengths as an individual artist!
· Merchandise artists do not need to have created similar (or any) merch before, however if you do have examples of past merchandise work, we encourage you to include them.
· Your portfolio does not have to feature Dragon Age fanworks, but we do give priority to Dragon Age fans. If you are a franchise fan, but do not have Dragon Age works in your portfolio, make sure to mention it elsewhere in your application!
IMPORTANT: If your portfolio does not meet these guidelines, your application will be automatically disqualified. Please review carefully before submitting, and reach out to us at dragonageannual@gmail.com if you have any questions!

Provide a link to your portfolio:

What program(s) do you use to create artwork?

You are not required to use a certain program and which program you use will not be a factor when reviewing your application. This information helps us provide you with a template ASAP if your application is accepted.
